Can I join virtually without audio and video?

By Emily Patel|June 14th, 2023|

Yes! There is no requirement to be on video or audio and you can join with a name that is not recognizable. You can participate this way for as long as you want. Our groups are a safe space that allow you to get the support you need in the way that serves you the most.

Are the support groups confidential?

By Emily Patel|June 1st, 2023|

One of our group guidelines is confidentiality. We encourage you to only share what you feel comfortable and have included this in our guidelines; "Confidentiality is critical for creating a safe environment where people can feel comfortable sharing personal information. If you see other group participants out in public, please be respectful of their boundaries, as some people would like to remain anonymous in the community."

What can I expect at my first support group?

By Emily Patel|June 1st, 2023|

Meetings will typically last around 60 minutes. There will be one group leader who will ensure conversation runs smoothly. At your first meeting, you will be provided group participation guidelines and the purpose statement (created by the group). There will be a short check-in and then the group members will have the opportunity to share. Meetings will end with a grounding exercise.
